Alvin Ailey premiere Johan Inger’s ‘Walking Mad’

Have you ever danced with…a wall? Ailey does just that in the Company premiere of Johan Inger’s ‘Walking Mad.’ The dancers move the wall, fold it, pass through it, and even dance on top of it, creating waves of emotions each time.

Johan Inger’s daring contemporary take on Ravel’s Bolero. The work brings waves of emotion – first laughter, then tears – and employs a long, movable wall that can also be viewed as a symbol of the barriers people construct in their relationships.
