Hollywood Comes to Harlem
Harlem Fashion Week is an explosion of culture that bridges the Downtown fashion hub to the Uptown vibe for a rich community experience. The event will showcase the fashion industry, provide business education for emerging designers, grow Harlem businesses, create a cultural platform and just have fun!
The four-day event will be hosted at restaurants, businesses and cultural centers all throughout the Harlem community and looks to attract 5,000 guest including, fashion industry professionals, members of the media, artists, entertainers, buyers and a host of VIPs.
Hollywood comes to HARLEM
Marci Rodgers, costume director for the Oscar Nominated film for Best Picture BLACKKKLANSMAN, presents the award for Best Emerging Designer at the 6th season of Harlem Fashion Week on February 16th, 2019 at the Museum of the City of New York.
One of the highlights of the Harlem Fashion Week Runway Show is the emerging designer showcase. HFW believes strongly in creating opportunities for new designers. Marci Rodgers, will be the award presenter among notable judges in the fashion industry who will determine the winner.
Marci Rodgers is an award-nominated costume designer who created the rich palette and ‘70s wardrobe on Spike Lee’s highly acclaimed film, BLACKKKLANSMAN, which already won the Grand Prix award at the 2018 Cannes Film Festival.
The emerging designer celebrity judges for season 6: Jessica Ford- digital hair and beauty writer for ESSENCE, Channing Hargrove-fashion writer Refinery 29, Kim Dillinger- celebrity stylist, Eila Mell- Author and Fashion Correspondent, Ty-ron Mayes –Fashion Editor for Untitled Magazine, Lead Stylist and Fashion Consultant for Tyra Banks, and America’s Next Top Model and Elliot Carlyle |The Brand. The Voice.

Proceeds from Harlem Fashion Week will be donated to the Junior Scholars Program at the Schomburg Library in Harlem and the Big Goree Project to restore the Slave Museum on Goree Island in Senegal, West Africa.
