The College of St. Elizabeth becomes Saint Elizabeth University

From Saint Elizabeth College to the College of Saint Elizabeth and now finally Saint Elizabeth University, SEU has changed its name three times!

Timeline:
1899 – Saint Elizabeth College was founded and opened on September 11 with six women students.

1900 – Charter granted for College of Saint Elizabeth.
1903 – The first graduating class of four students received their degrees from the College.

1970s – Started Continuing Studies program for adult women and men learners to complete undergraduate degrees.
1993 – The Masters program began with offering a Masters of Educational Leadership.
2010 – The first doctoral degrees were awarded for Educational Leadership.

2016 – First co-educational traditional undergraduate class was admitted.
2017 – First doctoral students in counseling psychology received their Psy.D., while new bachelor’s programs in computer software engineering, sports management and marketing, and social work along with master’s programs in applied behavior analysis, data analytics, public health, and social media design and management also were launched.

2020 – First co-educational traditional undergraduate class graduated. 
2020 — On July 1, 2020 officially became Saint Elizabeth University after receiving university status approval from the New Jersey Office of the Secretary of Higher Education.
