The 19th Annual “Let Us Break Bread Together” Awards Gala as we commemorate HCCI’s 36 years of community service with a festive live celebration at Marina del Rey. Our theme is “Resilience, Renewal & Revitalization: Building Beyond Today”. Hosted by Karen Murray and Curtis L. Archer of Soul Lounge Primetime on 90.3 FM, honorees include Rev. Dr. Calvin O. Butts III, Senior Pastor of The Abyssinian Baptist Church; Mr. Malik Yoba – actor, developer, and activist; Mr. Willie Walker a civic leader, and philanthropist; Mr. Olumide “Miday” Wilkey, Portfolio Manager at UBS Financial Services, Inc.; Ms. Melba Wilson – restaurateur and author; and Union Baptist Church, a founding member congregation of HCCI.
Harlem Congregations for Community Improvement, Inc. (HCCI) is committed to the holistic revitalization of Harlem. We provide economic development and empowerment opportunities to help Harlem residents rebuild and sustain their community. Founded in 1986, HCCI is a coalition of inter-faith congregations that has implemented a comprehensive portfolio of programs to provide affordable housing and safe streets; offer opportunities for individuals and groups to become and remain economically independent; increase understanding of and access to health care; and provide substantive educational programs for adults and young people.
