Mayor Ras Baraka and Queen Latifah Host Largest Harris-Walz Rally in NJ

In a powerful display of unity, thousands of energized supporters packed the Essex County College Gymnasium on Saturday for the largest Harris-Walz rally in New Jersey to date. The event, co-hosted by Newark Mayor Ras J. Baraka and Grammy-winning icon Queen Latifah, brought the community together in an electrifying push to inspire voter turnout ahead of the upcoming election.

“This election represents a turning point for our country, and the time to act is now,” said Mayor Baraka. “Queen Latifah and I are here to remind our community what’s at stake, and to rally together to fight for justice, equity, and leadership that will uplift all of us. We are not going back, and we need everyone to show up and vote for Harris and Walz in New Jersey, in Pennsylvania, and across the country.”

Queen Latifah, a Newark native, echoed the mayor’s sentiments, passionately urging the crowd to channel the energy from the rally into registering to vote so that their voices could be heard.

The rally featured appearances from community leaders and elected officials from across the state. The speakers urged attendees to use the enthusiasm from the event to fuel voter turnout in critical swing states, ensuring the Harris-Walz ticket is supported by a strong grassroots movement.
