Obituary For Lillian Tucker Thomas
Lillian I. Tucker Thomas of Clarksville, Maryland, formerly of Montclair, an entrepreneur who founded two stores and an entertainment company, died on Aug. 20, 2022. She was 76.
Mrs. Thomas, also a longtime resident of New York City, was the daughter of the late Dorothy Inez Penn Tucker and the late Frank Tucker.
She was a graduate of Montclair High School and Virginia State College, where she earned a bachelor’s degree in business administration.
She was employed as an accountant for the American Cyanamid Corp. but decided to pursue her interest in fashion design and dressmaking.
She was a successful entrepreneur who opened two retail stores, Sticks and Stones in East Orange and Stunning in Atlantic City. She also founded an entertainment company, Focus on Fun Entertainers, providing entertainment for children and adults.
Mrs. Thomas was known for her brilliance, sharp wit and sense of humor, and for freely expressing what was on her mind. She was a free spirit full of wonder and had an indomitable will, tenacity and strength.
She is survived by her sister, Francine Tucker Diggs (Ronald).
She was predeceased by her husband, Daniel Thomas.
