Maria Guadalupe

Hometown:
I currently reside in the town of Butler, New Jersey, where I moved to six years ago. Before my move, I lived in Paterson, New Jersey, where I was born and raised.

Major:
I majored in Organizational Leadership. I chose this major because of my role as an Associate Program Director for a vocational school and an adult instructor.

How has Pillar College impacted your life?
Pillar College has been an enlightening experience for me. I chose Pillar College because the LEAD Program provided me with the opportunity to complete my education as a fulltime working mother. Also, my time at Pillar College offered me more than an education because it also allowed me to establish friendships with bright and intelligent individuals.

What are your future plans?
My experience at Pillar College taught me that my goals are not impossible to reach. Therefore, I plan to continue my education and apply to a master’s program within the next year. Once I complete the master’s program, I hope to teach at a college level so that I can share my skills, experience, and knowledge with others.

Accomplishments:
In my personal life, my greatest accomplishment is my seventeen-year-old and my three-year-old daughters, which I adore. My professional career has always been in the field of education. I began with a certification to work with young children in the classroom and then went on to work as an instructor in a vocational school, educating adults in the early care and education field. While I worked as an instructor, I completed my associate degree and graduating with a 4.0 GPA. After a few years as an instructor, I was promoted to Manager, and I am currently the Associate Program Director of the vocational school. My most current accomplishments are achieving my bachelor’s degree, graduating with a 4.0 GPA, and being named Pillar College’s 2020 Valedictorian.

Warmest regards,
Maria Guadalupe
