Pillar College to host Pastor Appreciation Breakfast October 11th

Pillar College will host its Ninth Annual Pastor Appreciation Breakfast at 7:30 a.m., Tuesday, October 11th, at the Robert Treat Hotel, located at 50 Park Place in Newark, NJ. The Rev. Dr. Nicole Martin will be the keynote speaker at the breakfast. Dr. Martin, a 2021 Global Leadership Summit presenter, will speak on “The Context of the Call.” Pastors and their spouses are guests of honor at this free event that offers networking, fellowship, and a complimentary hot breakfast.

Also at the breakfast, the Jesus Book and Gift Christian Bookstore will give away books. Gift baskets more than $1,000 will also be given away. Additionally, pastors and church leaders attending this event can increase their media exposure by entering the WMCA 570AM Radio Sweepstakes. Prizes in this raffle include a bonus program worth $850 in air time on WMCA for use by a pastor to minister in 13-minute or 25-minute time slots. A second WMCA raffle worth $500 will give the winner an opportunity to promote their church by reading scripture on the station’s “Scripture Verse of the Day” program.

Following her appearance at the breakfast, Dr. Martin will lead the first Women’s Empowerment for Ministry Luncheon in the hotel’s Crystal Ball Room at 12:30 p.m. This luncheon is open to female leaders and their associates who work to provide tools for empowerment. Dr. Martin will speak on the theme “Redeeming Leadership, Reframing the Call.” The cost of the luncheon is $15. Persons who plan to attend this luncheon may request a waiver of the fee by contacting Dr. Wayne Dyer [email protected].

Dr. Dyer, the Vice President of Strategic Alliances and Special Assistant to the President at Pillar College, expressed pride in having The Positive Community Magazine as one of the day’s sponsors. Dyer has encouraged maximum attendance for both events. Free parking on Park Place will be available to guests, courtesy of the Newark Police.

“Pillar College hosts the Pastors Appreciation Breakfast each year as a way to honor pastors and pastoral families for the hard work, sacrificial dedication, and multiple blessings provided by these special people,” Dr. Dyer said, before quoting this verse from Hebrews 13:7: “Remember your leaders, who spoke the word of God to you. Consider the outcome of their way of life and imitate their faith.”

“We want to encourage and bless the pastors to whom God has entrusted a most precious assignment — the spiritual well-being of His flock,” Dyer said. “Pastors and their families live under incredible pressure, especially in these recent pandemic and post-pandemic times.”

As New Jersey’s only fully-accredited Christ-honoring College, Pillar College is honored to partner with local churches in fulfilling the Great Commission of encouraging spiritual leaders.
