Global Black Women’s Chamber of Commerce Summit

The Global Black Women’s Chamber of Commerce (GBWCC) stands as the only chamber focusing solely on Black women business owners worldwide. It was the first in person State of Black Women Summit.

Founded in February 2020 during the COVID pandemic when many women were pivoting to find new revenue streams, Ambassador Suzan Johnson Cook gathered women with vision, strength, and collective collaborative spirits to find ways for Black women to build wealth and leave a legacy.

Rev. Linda Jefferson, Rev. Nancey Jackson Johnson, and Rev. Louise Rountree were among the 25 international honorees at the Trailblazers and Unsung She-Roes Awards Gala at the National Press Club in Washington, DC on Thursday, December 5, 2024. Joining them were more than 100 powerful world changers—Dr. Toni Luck from Ghana, Gabon, West Africa Deputy Mayor Mme. Annie Chrystel Iwenga, Sports Agent Felicia Hall Allen, Media Mogul Sheila Eldridge, and Choose Healthy Life Executive Director Rev. Kimberly Jefferson Williams.

Just five years after its founding the organization in partnerships with organizations like Women on the Worldstage (W.O.W.) and Women Elevating Women (W.E.W) led by Betty Hines, GBWCC is moving to New York City. Next year’s summit will take place at the Federation of Protestant Welfare Agencies, hosted by its CEO Jennifer Jones Austin.

Ambassador Johnson Cook says “Black women mean business! When Black women get together, we not only rock the cradles… we build them, and then we rock the world.”
