ArtsWestchester Juneteenth Coalition

The countywide Juneteenth Coalition will launch its month-long freedom celebrations on May 28 at ArtsWestchester.
The multi-day event will assemble culture, commerce, and community to commemorate the end of slavery in the United States. This year’s celebration centers around the theme, “Built by Us: The Black Blueprint of American Business.”
The programmatic focus puts a spotlight on the legacy, power, and economic contributions of Black entrepreneurs who have historically shaped, and continue to build, the nation’s financial landscape.
The observances begin on May 28 with an opening reception and program running from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Attendees can expect an inspiring evening featuring guest speakers, 15+ business exhibitors, live cultural entertainment, and a dynamic fashion showcase featuring regional Black designers.
Following the opening night, the celebration transitions into a weekend-long Black Business Expo running from May 29 through May 31, from noon to 5:00 p.m. daily. The ArtsWestchester gallery space will transform into a vibrant, rotating marketplace. Visitors are invited to explore, shop, and network with a diverse array of local, Black-owned businesses.
The event is free, open to the public, and serves as the official anchor for subsequent Juneteenth flag-raisings and festivals across the county. Click here to see a full list of Westchester countywide Juneteenth events.
