Harlem Comes Together For Health

Black Health Matters brought its message of health, wellness and community empowerment to Harlem on August 13 with a special health summit and expo at The Riverside Church. The event brought residents together with healthcare professionals, patient advocates and community organizations for important conversations about issues affecting Black communities. Attendees had access to health education, screenings, wellness resources and opportunities to learn more about taking control of their health and becoming stronger advocates for themselves and their families.

The event addressed a broad range of concerns, including heart health, nutrition, kidney disease, cancer, asthma, mental health and fitness. More than simply providing information, the gathering created a space for people to ask questions, connect with resources and engage directly with health professionals and advocates. Held during Harlem Week, the event reinforced the importance of bringing culturally relevant health information directly into the community and encouraging prevention, education and greater access to healthcare resources.
