Wellpoint New Jersey Brings Joy of Reading to Schools Across the State

School auditoriums and multi-purpose rooms across New Jersey were filled with excitement in March as Wellpoint New Jersey launched its Read Across New Jersey 2025 initiative. This program features a series of read-along events where children not only enjoy listening to different stories but also receive free books to enhance their personal libraries. The initiative aims to inspire children to discover the power of reading through engaging live events and book giveaways.
The statewide campaign kicked off with a spirited event at Paterson School #25, where Councilman Alex Mendez read aloud to a room full of eager students, accompanied by Paterson Deputy Fire Chief Michael Hall, who offered encouragement and support. More than 1,000 books were distributed to the attending children.
The 2025 Read Across New Jersey initiative distributed over 5,000 books and encouragement to students across the state, reaffirming Wellpoint New Jersey’s commitment to literacy, education, and stronger communities. Wellpoint has been serving NJ FamilyCare members and their communities for more than 30 years.
